Oh, Crumbs!

Hello Paw-Pals,

Er…Miss H what are you doing with those little scraps of fabric?  You should throw them in the bin.  What?   You are sewing them together?  That’s funny.  What are you going to make?

Looks like Miss H had a fun time sewing tiny bits together and then embroidered a letter on one of the pieces and gave them to the Mother….

And she made them into a little quilt and called it ‘Crumbs”.

Quilters really are quite strange.  They sew with crumbs.  I would just eat them!

Organised October: Thread Catchers

Hello People,

I am Luna and today I will be doing the blog post because the faithful (haha) dog decided to leave for a walk.

So the Mother followed me around putting random fabric baskets next to me.
I am NOT amused

So, let me tell you about these thread catching baskets: The red one is the Mother's and the blue one is Miss H's.
They were a special gift from a quilting friend of theirs when she heard that they didn't have one.

A big THANK YOU from them to the lovely, lovely lady.

Organised October: Reading Pillows!

Hello Peeps,

For today's Organised October we have some kits for reading pillows.

Miss H went to some friends' birthday party (triplets - 2 girls and a boy - and their sister). The Mother taught them how to quilt last year and they are creative so Miss H and the Mother decided to make up some packs for them to make their own Reading Pillows.

So, the Mother wrote up a pattern for them. Below is some of the progression photos we included with the instructions.

Here is some of the Mother's stitching.

The front. I love that front fabric - though Snowy doesn't! Hee hee hee!

I don't know what this is a picture of... um... a pin in fabric...
This is what happens when Miss H lets the Mother take the pictures...

The finished pillow! Complete with Miss H's favourite book, of course!

The Mother and Miss H made up the kits for the triplets and their sister.

Each fabric was carefully chosen according to the colours they like.

Organised October: Drumstick Case

Hello Peeps,

Sorry I have been away for sooooooooo long. Miss H and I came home for our study break and wanted to spend as much time with family as possible.

The Mother was asked by Master I-Zee, her favourite nephew (is she allowed to have favourites?), if she would make him a drumstick case. Always up for a challenge - even though she had never even seen a drumstick case before - she said yes.

Here it is all rolled up.

The Mother chose lots of different blue fabrics to make it. The stripey blue and white fabric is actually another pocket.

Unfortunately we didn't have any drumsticks to show you - and I am a little big. Hee hee!

The handle hangs up near his drum set so he can easily reach his drumsticks. Master I-Zee was so proud when he took it to music class - EVERYONE wanted one.
He even took it with him to China on the school music trip!
