Saturday Show: Spice

Hello Peeps,

Today's Show is a wall-hanging with Miss H's first ever cat - Spice.

The Mother used special fabric printing paper to put the pictures in the quilt.

Spice loved to snuggle up under the blankets - just like me!

This is Spice with The Geek's cat - Lightening Strike. They were brothers.

The Mother patched the back with lots of funky quilt fabrics.

Festival One

Hello Peeps,

You may have noticed that there was no Saturday Show last Saturday. Well, the reason is that it was Auckland Anniversary on the weekend and Miss H was at Festival One from Friday until Monday.

This was her wristband.
Miss H lurved it. One of her all time favourite bands was there - Switchfoot.

She also listened to many other bands, including Brady Toops. Look, she got his signature. Yay!

Miss H also got the signatures of all the band members in Newworldson. Soul Joel kindly wrote the band name at the top for Miss H.

This last photo was taken by one of the Festival One photographers. Kit Kat found it while looking on their Facebook page. Neither Kit Kat nor Miss H knew that they were having their photo taken.

Kit Kat is on the left, Miss H is on the right.

Postage Stamp Quilt!

Hello Peeps.

Miss H has also been sewing some of her postage stamp quilt.

Here are some of the squares sewn into groups of four.

Woof! Woof! Miss H "borrowed" the dog fabric from the left-overs of a Christmas cushion.

Each square is 2 1/2 inches.

This hat is from some off-cuts after the She Who Sews Blog Hop.

Shh... Miss H snuck this owl out of The Mother's stash. Don't tell her.

Mmmm... yummy. Chocolate drops and an Ice-cream Sundae!

Well, actually sheep are. We are loyal, lovable, warm and oh-so-soft!

Saturday Show: Childhood Dreams

Hello Peeps,

Today's quilt is very special. It was made by the Mother for Miss H as a quilt for her childhood... however it was only just finished a year ago, when Miss H was a teenager.

 Isn't it really coolio?

The quilt is made out of such different fabric - an eye spy quilt.
These are the happy children who like to play with kites.

I am going bananas!!!

Miss H made me hide my eyes - she thinks these are scary moons!

These creatures are all ready for bed - just after their bedtime stories.

Twirl! I am a ballerina! Twirl!

A couple of days ago we had a bit of excitement - we saw one of only 2 harmful spiders in NZ. It was crawling on Miss H's shorts and she nearly put them on!

Here it is. The whitetail spider. It won't kill you - just make you sick.

Rainbow in the Meadow

Hello Peeps.

Miss H has been busy sewing this summer holiday (when she is not at the beach, that is). She has almost finished all the blocks, then she can sew them all together.

Here are all the completed blocks so far.  There are 6 of each colour around. Miss H just has to sew the white surrounded blocks now.

Aren't they sooo coolio?  Can you see the hummingbird?

Woah! This block does funny things to my eyes Miss H!

Here's how the quilt will look when it is all sewn together. (Yes, Miss H did design a quilt on her maths working out sheet.)

Saturday Show: A Work of Heart

Hello Peeps.

Today's Saturday Show is a little wall hanging that usually is one of several hanging in the sewing room.

Isn't it soooo coolio?

And there is a chicken in this one too...

"Friendship is a work of heart!"

My favourite part is the lovely cat who has made friends with the little blue bird.

Saturday Show: Chicken House

Hello Peeps,

The quilt I am showing today has just been washed due to an accident on Christmas Day. It is quite a dramatic story with not one but two accidents in less than five minutes.

The family had just settled down and started opening presents. The Enemy (Snowy) had his present opened first - a Christmas Duck.

But the Boss tried to steal Snowy's new toy...

"My toy!" Snowy thought and ran away - right into Miss H's cup of tea! Oops! (He didn't get burnt thankfully.)

After soaking up all the tea from the carpet, we all settled down again. Miss H had just started opening a present when... SPLASH! The Geek (Miss H's brother) spilt his cup of tea all over the quilt.

Now it has all been nicely washed...

Here it is. Thankfully the Mother got the tea stains out.

Don't the chickens look very funky? And I think having a moon shaped chimney would be so COOLIO!

And I lurve the stars in the center. Ohhh, look this star has flowers on it.
